What's involved in a conversion?
It's not just a question of throwing a few joists down for a floor and lining the walls out with plasterboard!!!
Every conversion has to meet both the building inspector's standards and our own.
By law your garage conversion must meet various requirements so you have piece of mind that our work is being controlled
by your council inspector.
You apply for planning or building notice through your local council.
Planning requires drawings and details of materials to be use.
Building notice doesn't require plans but the inspector will check the work at various stages to make sure it complies with
current building regulations.
- Footing for the opening to be reduced to accommodate the new window and/or door
- Fit the floor
- Fit stud work to walls
- Insulate floor, walls and ceiling to current building regulations
- Fit the floor and plasterboard as required
- Plastering required
- Final electrical & plumbing fixings
- Now it's time to decorate
- Sit back and enjoy your new room.
Permission or building regulations application.
Window FENCA certificate which will also meets current fire regulations.
Electrical Part "P" certificate (sockets & lighting).
Council sign-off certificate.
As we are very fastidious about the quality of our work and also to make sure we meet current building regulations, each conversion
takes about 2 weeks (leaving no stone unturned).
As the work progresses all waste is removed on a daily basis keeping your property safe for you, your family and any visitors.
For your own piece of mind all work is fully guaranteed against faulty workmanship and materials.
Once we have completed the work you will be asked to sign the work off as complete to your requirments. This does not
affect the guarantee in any way.
